On Fat Tuesday, also known as Mardi Gras, we’re reducing adoption fees for cats who weigh 11 pounds or more to just $10. Our everyday cat adoption fees are $45 for adults and $30 for seniors. And just like on other days, any cat you adopt on Fat Cat Tuesday will have been vaccinated and spayed or neutered. In addition, your new cat goes home with a collar, I.D. tag and travel box. We also have a list of local veterinarians who will give your new cat a free exam, and you can sign up for a free month of Sheltercare pet health insurance.

Sure, many people think why get a cat or kitten from a humane society when I can get one for free from a friend,
neighbor or family member? Well here’s why. At the Cleveland APL, every cat and kitten has been spayed or
neutered, given their initial vaccines, treated for fleas and worms, and tested for feline leukemia, feline HIV, and heartworms, all of which will save an adopter nearly $300 in future care!
